The Divine Nature

The Divine Nature

The Bible teaches that all sin stems from one root-origin and that attempting to stop committing any particular sin in itself is futile without first addressing this source from which all evil arises, which is the only real sin that can send a soul to eternal condemnation. In the Garden of Eden, Adam’s spirit became darkened with the sinful nature of through the piercing sting of the serpent when he committed the first and only  cardinal sin by partaking of the prohibited spiritual fruit. The fruit of the forbidden tree was not an apple as is typically portrayed in folklore and children’s bedtime stories.

The Arch Work of Satan

The terrible fruit forbidden by God was nothing less than the fruit of sin nature. The sin-nature that overtook Adam made him a slave to habitual sin, and this same sinful nature was passed down to all of Adam’s descendants. The contamination of the entire human race with Satan’s evil nature that causes all sin remains to this day the arch work of Satan throughout the history of the world.  〜 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12).

A Master of Sin

However, not being blind to man’s enslavement to evil, which the Bible calls ‘the law of sin1 and death,’ God sent Jesus to annihilate and eradicate the sin nature by introducing the far superior spiritual nature of God into the human race once again. 〜 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3:6). The divine nature is the master-key to all of the kingdom of God. Once correctly understood and given the preeminence, man not only becomes a master of sin, he becomes as he originally was before sin entered the world — a master of Satan.

The truth

Regardless of how sincere and determined an individual may be, no one can ever stop sinning without receiving the divine nature. This is what Jesus meant when He said 〜 “Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:34,36). This saying of Jesus also reveals another important spiritual law. It tells us that man can indeed be set free from sin simply by understanding the truth contained in the teachings of the Christ and acting upon them in faith in daily life. Let’s take a little closer look at the words of the Master contained in John 8.34. He said, “…whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.” This small phrase contains a universe of revelation knowledge that is powerful enough to liberate one completely out of the hands of the devil by enabling him to completely stop sinning once and for all.

The Root Cause

First, it is clear from Jesus’ words stating that individual sins themselves are nothing more than a symptom of one who is still infected by the sin nature. He said that if a person commits any sin at all… even only one sin, this person is a ‘slave’ to the evil sin-nature that came to all men through Adam’s sin in the Garden. The only way for anyone to stop sinning is to receive the divine nature of the Father, the love nature of God, that Jesus introduced into the human race and made available to all of mankind. It is a complete waste of time for anyone to attempt to overcome any particular sin without first addressing the root cause from which all sin originates, which is the sin nature. The Apostle Paul, speaking by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, explains this issue even further in the book of Romans. 〜 “knowing this, that our old man [Adam] was crucified with [Him][Jesus], that the body of sin [sin nature] might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin” (Romans 6:6).

The Power of Knowing

The ‘old man’ referred to here is none other than the infamous first man, Adam; one cannot get any older than he. Notwithstanding, it does not refer to the person of Adam as an individual man, but rather to his authorship of the sinful nature by which he contaminated the entire human race when he colluded with Satan. The wonderful thing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that the Son of God has already done everything that is needed. The only thing necessary now to be completely freed from the grip of sin and Satan is nothing more than to ‘know’ the truth. Notice, the Apostle says — ‘KNOWING’ this…’ Jesus has already exterminated the sin-nature of Lucifer for you. It’s already a ‘done deal,’ signed in the blood of the Lamb of God and sealed in the blood-stained lines of the New Testament. All of the heavy lifting and all of the hard work has already been completed by the Lamb of God when He ascended onto the cross at Calvary. The only thing that remains now is for you to simply ‘know the truth,’ and the power of the knowledge of the truth of the cross will set you free from all of Satan’s dominion and authority as you believe it, confess it, and act upon it in your daily life.
