The Inner Man

The inner man is God’s hidden golden key to all that is sublime and eternal. This spiritual master key was not hidden from you; it was hidden ‘for’ you. Tapping into the reality of the inner man and learning to give him the ascendency in your consciousness will unlock the hidden door of God into the divine power, wisdom and glory of the resurrection like nothing else you have ever experienced. The inner man, the hidden spirit man of the heart commands all of the answers and power necessary to live in complete victory now in this life while giving you complete dominion over the enemy. Peter mentions him in his first book ~ “Rather [let it be] the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible [beauty] of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God” (1Peter 3.4).

Unlimited Spiritual Power

The inner man is the person God has equipped and predestined to take charge of your life, leading you into all of the fulness of God. He will make you perfect in every way. Your inner man has the mind of Christ, which means he understands all of God’s perfect will for your life and perfectly discerns the voice of the Holy Spirit all of the time. ~ “For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ” (1Corinthians 2.16). Moreover, the inner man is indued with unlimited spiritual power to heal your body, mind and soul; as well as to exorcise demons and unleash the miracle-working power, as Jesus demonstrated and declared. ~ “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater [works] than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14.12).  Notice, Jesus said the reason greater works would be done was “because I go to my Father,” which means that greater works will by done by those who receive and walk in the fulness of the power of Holy Spirit through the inner man. ~ “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper [Holy Spirit] will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you” (John 16.7).

Your Part

Everyone knows that ‘the Helper’ mentioned here is referring to the Holy Spirit. In other words, those who are renewed by the Holy Spirit and walk in the power and understanding of the inner man will do even greater works than Christ Himself did. The point is that the new man, the inner man, the hidden man of heart is the God-given master key to all of the Christian life. It will not only free you from the oppression of the enemy, putting on the new man of the Spirit will also free those around you from the workings of darkness because the power of God will operate in and through as you pray and speak words of faith. So, what does it take to release this inner man of the heart and set him in the driver´s seat of your life? Scripture tells us that the inner man must be ‘put on’ by the believer in order for him to become active and dominant over the carnal. ~ “That you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4.24). It will not happen by accident or just because it is God’s will. You must do your part.

How to Release the Inner Man

Everything in the spiritual world is received into the human realm via knowledge, or what the Bible calls ‘light,’ which is the revealed knowledge of the truth. In other words, it all takes place in the mind. The new man is ‘put on’ through spiritual knowledge, when it is understood and acted upon. ~ “And have put on the new [man] who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him” (Colossians 3.10). The inner man is ‘renewed,’ or becomes active ‘in knowledge.’ Satan operates through what the Bible calls the darkness of this world, or the ignorance of this age. The more spiritual revelation (knowledge) your spirit receives, the stronger he grows until eventually the inner man of the heart unseats the carnal man, and the believer becomes a mature ‘spiritual’ person, who is now guided perfectly by the Holy Spirit, like Jesus was. You will remember, Jesus said ~ “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner” (John 5.19).

All You Were Created to Be

Once a level of spiritual maturity has been attained, the next major step is to begin to ‘turn off’ the mind and ‘turn on’ the voice of the inner spirit man. Most Christians have unwittingly followed the lost practices of the godless generation that surrounds them. They have spent their entire lives doing what the Bible calls living in ‘in the futility of their mind.’ ~ “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind” (Ephesians 4.17). It’s time to understand that all real thinking and reasoning is done in the spirit of man, not in the mind. The human mind is fraught with weakness and confusion and must be brought into subjection to the superior knowledge and understanding of the inner man. Begin today to follow the steps outlined in this article and let the inner man open the door to all that God created you to be.

1 Corinthians 2.11

For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
