Destined to Triumph

There are few words better than this word, and the Bible uses it unabashedly and lavishly. It is something that everybody wants and everyone is striving for, either overtly or covertly, yet few people talk openly about it anymore, except in sports or war.  The word I am referring to is — ‘victory,’ which means that things eventually turn out the way you desire or even better. There are those who pride themselves in having surrendered to the forces that oppose the dreams that God has placed into their hearts. They have quit fighting and have succumbed to the driving forces of the four winds. ‘Whatever God chooses,’ they say, is good enough for me. But what if what God wants is for you to choose? What if it is God’s will that you dream and fight for your dreams. How many there are who say that they are ‘waiting’ on God, when the truth is that God is waiting on them. If God wanted to choose everything for you, He never would have created you with a free will, and He never would have told ‘you’ to choose for yourself. There are those who think it is pious to say… ‘whatever God wants is good enough for me.’

Consider the word that God speaks to you this day… “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30.19). Wouldn’t it be easy if the Bible said that God would just decide everything for you. But that is not the case. The truly pious individual will recognize that there are certain things that the Father will decide for His children, and there are other things that God insists His children must decide for themselves. How many presume that it is spiritual to choose defeat in their hearts and then blame God for their defeat. These are those who have quit the ‘good fight’1 of faith’ because of fear and languor, and then say — ‘God’s will be done,’ faking to sound spiritual when everyone knows that they have surrendered the fight to the devil. The children of God are the greatest warriors who have ever walked the face of this earth. God has no offspring who are cowards or are slothful… because God is a man of war. I know there are some who still don’t know this, but what is important is that you know it. Look at what is written ~ “The LORD is a man of war; The LORD is His name” (Exodos 15.3).

Complete Victory

The enemy has convinced some that the Christian life is about surrender and defeat, but I want to tell you today that the devil is a liar. He is a liar and a loser. — God has not called any His children to surrender and defeat; He has called His children to faith and to victory. It is for this reason the New Testament is called ‘the Gospel.’ The word ‘Gospel’ comes from the Greek word ‘εὐαγγέλιον,’ which means ‘good news,’ and the only ‘good news’ to a soldier is that in the end ‘he wins!’ God wants you to live in complete victory over all2 of the power of the enemy in every area of your life, but it’s going to cost you something. It’s not going to come to you for free. It’s going to cost you the price of blood — not your blood, the blood of the only begotten Son of God that was shed for you. ~ “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (Revelation 12.11).

Cannot Lose

Notice that this verse is from the book of Revelation, and it is talking about the children of God. It says that the descendants of God are overcomes, and they overcame, not just any enemy, they overcame the Antichrist; they overcame Satan end every demon in hell, and they will do it by faith in the blood of Jesus. This is the Gospel; this is the Good News! Do you still not know that His blood has made you a world-overcomer? Look at what John wrote. ~ “And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood” (Revelation 1.5). You absolutely cannot loose. You have been washed in the blood of the lamb, baptized into the family of God, and the greatest warrior in the history of universe has destined you to victory over every attack of the enemy.

Only One Way to Lose

You are now immune to sin, sickness, weakness and defeat — you have been washed in the blood of God, and now Satan has no weapon that will work against you, all sin has been canceled, washed away and forgiven. The only thing that is left now is the crown… the crown that will be given to you on that same day that it is given to me, and all who do not surrender the fight even unto death — the crown of victory. ~ Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (2Timothy 4.8). It’s not how your current station in life may appear to others or how you discouraged you may feel. For most of Jesus’ life, He appeared defeated and crushed under the weight of the battle, yet there was no and neither shall there ever be a greater champion to walk the face of the earth. The victory is yours. It’s guaranteed and it’s already been given to you. The only way you can lose is if you quit. So, stand your ground and don’t let your hands be weak.

1John 5.4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world––our faith.
